We feel very honored that our invited speaker Dr. Aquib Moin, Associate professor, UAE university delivered a very inspiring and motivational talk in the workshop.
Dr. Aquib Moin holds an MSc in Radio Astronomy & Space Science from Sweden and a PhD in Astrophysics from Australia. At present, he works as a Senior Scientist at the National Space Science & Technology Centre (NSSTC) and an Associate Professor at the Department of Physics, UAE University (UAEU). His primary domain of interest is Observational Radio Astronomy but he is leading projects in other areas of Space Science as well. He is a member of UAE Federal Government’s Emirates Space Innovation Group (ESIG) and works regularly with the UAE Space Agency and Muhammad Bin Rashid Space Centre - UAE on various space-related projects. He is actively involved in strategic initiatives related to UAE’s National Space Program. He is currently the Project Scientist and Director for the large-scale UAEU Radio-Array Astronomical & Space Science Observatory project and the Space Situational Awareness Infrastructure Project. In addition, he is the Principal Investigator for various Astronomy research projects such as: Observational studies of Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) and their possible association with Binary Black Hole mergers; Observational studies of Radio Transients and SSA Satellite Constellation. He has been affiliated with NASA, New York University, Harvard-Smithsonian CfA, CSIRO, Curtin University, International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research and many other organizations. Moreover, he is the Founder and CEO of space-tech entrepreneurial venture called Alhazen Space.
